DIGITAL STILL PHOTOGRAPHY
*News*
Some examples of "False Positives" taken at a recent daytime investigation of a Civil War battlefield:

Above: Almost dead center of the shot, slightly below the split rail fence is a shadowy form.

Above: In the second shot from this series of three, the "shadowy form" has moved to the right. In the third shot it was gone. Thinking it could possibly be paranormal, we quickly compared it to our back-up video. Matching up the exact time on video was easy since the pickup truck in the distance was approaching. What we found was,,,,,,,,,a fast flying bird unnoticed at the time of the shot. Slow shutter speed from shooting in infrared gave the bird the distorted effect. "Debunked!" Just another reason why we never take still photographs without video back-up.
Each member of our group reviews our photographs and gives an opinion. 99% of the time what is caught can be naturally explained. We do not present orbs or mists as evidence.
During an investigation, we have a designated time for a still photography session. What this consists of, is going room to room with our multi-spectrum still camera which is attached to a bracket on a tripod. Also attached to this bracket is a full spectrum video camera, so that we are recording video backup of what the still camera is shooting. To back this up even further, a second investigator also shadows the first, and uses a camera set to regular mode, with no flash. Both investigators take still shots simultaneously in Burst mode. By using this method we are covering infrared, ultraviolet, and visible light spectrums. After trial and error, we have began to conduct our still photography sessions "lights on", or even better during daylight hours. This eliminates any type of reflection from external flash illumination.
A very few shots which we could never explain can be viewed on our Photo Album to your left. We chose to place them in the Photo Album rather than here on site because the album gives you the option of viewing full size.

*Digital camera debunking Charts*

The chart above shows some examples of insects taken with a digital camera using a flash. These can sometimes result in strange shapes and sizes and lead many to believe they've captured paranormal evidence.

The chart above shows some examples of dust, pollen and lint taken with a digital camera using a flash. These "orbs" are nothing more than airborne particles that caught the reflection of the camera flash.

Colored orbs, the result of a flash reflecting from dyed clothing fibers and carpet particles. Many types of airborne pollen can reflect colors also.
Many thanks to midnite-walkers.com for putting together these excellent example charts.
